QR workflow
Create and use an inventory QR code
Create a permanent QR inventory, choose its privacy level, and keep the item list current from any phone.
STEP 01
Create the inventory online
Open the QR inventory tool, name the box, shelf, room, or collection, and add a short description if it will help other people recognize it.
STEP 02
Choose public or password-protected access
Leave the password option off when anyone with the link may view the list. Turn it on when visitors should enter a password before any item names or locations appear. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes.
STEP 03
Download, scan, and add items
Download the generated QR, print it, and scan it from a phone. The QR opens a permanent inventory page with edit access, so you can add items, change quantities and locations, remove entries, or print the current item list.
- Keep the editable QR label private enough for the contents it controls.
- Share the separate view link when someone should only read the list.
- Use the app for photo recognition and richer room, shelf, box, and item-location editing.
